Combat is limited to land-based combat so outside of a few commander abilities, there are no aircraft in the game and no naval vessels. The game also exclusively takes place in the European theater so there are only two types of environments: summer and winter. The base game features the German Wehrmacht Ostheer and the Soviet Union while expansions add the United States, The British, and the German Oberkommando West (OKW) factions (Basically Germany makes up the entirety of the Axis faction in this game. The game is set during the Second World War and features five playable factions. World War II remains a popular war to romanticize and Company of Heroes 2 is no exception. I have not played the single player story mode nor have I attempted to play online with other players.
